Reading

I love to read. Seriously, I feel like a lot of kids my age don't read. All that teenagers do now is go on social media. I mean I love going on Instagram and seeing what all my friends are doing, but I do like to spend a lot of my time reading. I like a lot of the more popular books and series such as Divergent, The Hunger Games, and The Fault in our Stars. I pretty much read romance, like Sarah Dessen's books. I also read dystopian books which are books that has a society faced with different problems such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. I am looking forward to reading more this year and hope I might have inspired you to read more too.

20% Time

In English we started 20 percent time. I am working in a group of four writing Bible stories. Not just bible stories, but a more current version so kids can understand it better. There are two writers and two people who are making illustrations. I am drawing for some of the stories. I wanted to draw the pictures on paper, but my friends wanted me to do it on the iPad.  I think it is harder to draw on the iPad but I was outvoted. I hope to practice more and make my drawing better.

Wanelo

I love shopping. I love going to the mall with my friends and pick out clothes, but sometimes I am so busy. With sports, school, and church I never have any time. I found this amazing app called Wanelo. Its where you can go online shopping and look at anything you want. They have all different stores you can follow, and all the products that are popular. You can also follow your friends too. If you want to buy something later you can save it to your wish list or buy it straight off wanelo. I have never bought anything off of it but I will in the future. Do you think you would like this app? Have you ever bought anything off Wanelo?

Catching Fire

November 22, 2013 is the date for Catching Fire.  I am so excited because I am going to the midnight premiere! The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books series. My favorite book is Catching Fire and Mockingjay is my least favorite because its really boring. I love all the detail, action, and romance in the books as well as the movies. I get really attached to the characters and if something bad happens it can get pretty ugly. I am team Peeta, Who do you like better Gale or Peeta?

Romeo and Juliet

"Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo" Every one knows this line. Its from the classic play by Shakespeare's, Romeo and Juliet. A story about a family feud and a pair of star-crossed lovers.  * Spoiler Alert* At the end they both die. This year we finally read the play. I feel like I really learned something this year just by reading this play. I recently went to the new Romeo and Juliet movie by Julian Fellows. We just finished reading Romeo and Juliet in English so I really wanted to see the movie. The movie was really accurate but them left out some parts. I was really sad when they left out "a sail, a sail." Balthasar was not in it either.  Also Juliet woke up right after Romeo drank the poison and she saw him die. I really like the story of Romeo and Juliet, but I hate that they both die a the end. Even though some scenes and people were different I still really enjoyed the movie and the play.

Ballet Blues

I did ballet for 8 years. I really liked it and thought it was really fun, all the leaps and graceful moves. I really wanted to work up to the point were I got to wear point shoes. When I was little I wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up, but things changed. Some days were fun, but others weren't. I didn't want to go to class anymore because I didn't really know anyone that well, and I thought I wasn't as good as everyone else. Everyone else did a second ballet class called Junior Company and I couldn't be in it, so sometimes I felt left out. By the end I didn't like it anymore so I quit. Some days I wish I hadn't. I have seen people do ballet now and it reminds me of how much fun it was. Have you ever regretted quitting something?

Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is a tv show about a very wealthy family, living their lives everyday in there mansion, Downton Abbey. The show is set in the 1900s.They have maids, housekeepers, and many people who work for them. All the people who work there eat, sleep, and breath Downton Abbey.  Lord Grantham and Lady Grantham have three daughters- Mary, Edith, and Sybil.  Mary is trying to find a husband so they can have an heir.  I love all the fashion and the new advancements that they have, like when they get a new phone. There are many dramatic moments and it is very exciting show. It's really fun to watch and it can also inform people about what happened in the 1900s.

My friend got me really into the show and now I'm hooked. I haven't seen season three yet so don't spoil anything. I am really excited to finish season three and then start season four in January. My favorite character is Sybil and I hope to see more of her in the coming episodes. Have any of you watched Downton Abbey? Who is your favorite character?
